The Works Lawn Service

Services

Everything we do —in plain English.

We’ll quote any of these on-site. The price you get is the price you pay — no surprise add-ons, no upsells.

  • Weekly Mowing

Sharp lines, even cut, blown-clean walks. Same crew every week, same morning, gate latched on the way out.

Weekly or bi-weekly mowing across Round Rock, Pflugerville, Hutto, and the rest of the Williamson County route. Sharpened blades, mulch-cut by default, bagging on request. Cut height tuned to the season so St. Augustine and Bermuda lawns hold moisture through the August heat. Edged at every visit, walks and driveway blown clean before we leave.

  • Landscape Design (2D & 3D)

A real plan before anyone breaks ground. We sketch the bed lines, walks, and tree placement — then render it in 3D so you see it before we plant it.

Free on-site design walk with David. We measure, photograph, and listen to how you actually use the yard. Then we come back with a 2D layout plus a 3D render — the kind that shows you the patio at sunset before a single paver is laid. No charge for the sketch, no obligation to build with us.

  • Hardscape — Pavers, Patios, Walks

Patios, walkways, stepping stones, and drainage that does not heave when the soil shifts. Polymeric sand, compacted base, edges that hold.

Concrete pavers, flagstone, and natural stone — set on a properly compacted base with geotextile underlayment and polymeric sand joints. Drainage planned into the layout so water moves where you want it, not where it lands. Retaining walls, fire pits, and stepping-stone paths in the same scope.

  • Softscape & Bed Maintenance

New beds, plant replacement, mulch refresh, hand-pulled weeds, seasonal pruning timed to each plant rather than the calendar.

Texas-tough plant picks — salvia, lantana, agave, dwarf yaupon, autumn sage — installed at the right depth in a properly amended bed. Existing beds get hand-pulled weeds (no glyphosate near edibles unless you ask), seasonal pruning, and a fresh hardwood or cedar mulch top-up every spring and fall.

  • Xeriscape Conversions

Turn the thirsty St. Augustine into a yard that survives a Round Rock August on rainfall alone — without looking like a gravel parking lot.

Native Texas drought-tolerant design — agave, yucca, prickly pear, blackfoot daisy, Mexican feathergrass — laid out around decomposed-granite paths and stone accents. Drip irrigation where it makes sense, rainwater capture where it works. Fewer mows, lower water bill, more pollinators.

  • Irrigation Systems

New installs, head replacements, line repairs, controller programming. Spring start-ups and fall blow-outs.

Full-property irrigation from scratch, or repairs on the system you already have. Seasonal start-up and shutdown, head replacements, broken-line locates and repairs, controller programming, and a walk-through with you to confirm every zone hits what it should — without spraying the driveway.

  • Tree Service

Live oak, cedar elm, crape myrtle, pecan. Seasonal cuts timed to each species, removals, brush hauled off the same day.

Trimming and pruning timed correctly — live oaks cut in winter to dodge oak wilt season, crape myrtles thinned not topped, cedar elms shaped for clearance. Removals down to grade, stump grinding on request, brush and limbs hauled off the same day so the driveway is clear for evening traffic.

  • Landscape Lighting

Path lights, uplights, downlights, step lights — installed with proper transformers and runs that will not flicker out next summer.

Low-voltage LED systems with quality transformers, direct-burial wire, and weatherproof connections. Uplights on specimen trees, downlights from eaves, path lighting along walkways, deck-step lighting. Designed for the way you actually sit out there in the evening, not the way the catalog photographs it.

  • Spring & Fall Cleanups

The big two — winter debris out, summer prep in spring; leaves, dead growth, dormancy prep in fall.

A full-property reset twice a year. Spring: cut back perennials, remove winter debris, edge beds, refresh mulch, pre-emergent on the lawn. Fall: bag leaves, blow out beds, cut back what wants cutting, prep the lawn and irrigation for dormancy.
